Churai's Musical Evolution

In anticipation of the episode on Marusia Churai, here a two examples of how her songs have evolved throughout the years:


First up, is "The Cossack's are Whistling". This first video is a modern take but one that probably sounds a lot like it would back when the Cossack bard's sang it (he starts singing around the 1:20 mark):



Then, it evolved into a late 19th century - early 20th century marching song:


And is currently being reclaimed by Ukraine's pop artists:




Second is the song Marusia is also well known for: "Oi Ne Khody Khrytsiu". This one is also a modern interpretation by Navka
